The lessons and values learned as an athlete have shaped my journey, giving me the confidence to chase every goal, knowing that no matter how hard I have to work, I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

 

Growing up, sports and being an athlete were essential to my life. As a military family, we constantly moved, never staying in one place for long. Through sports, I was able to quickly connect with new friends and have a sense of normalcy. Football quickly became my main sport, shaping my mindset and approach to life.

 

Throughout high school, I focused on training and hours of practice, driven to improve. During these formative years, I began to understand the true meaning of resilience and determination. Each setback became an opportunity to grow, each challenge a chance to prove my mettle. My hard work earned me two full-ride sports I loved became an avenue to get an education and prepare for the next chapter of life. Initially, I studied architecture but shifted to business, wanting to apply the skills I developed in leadership, camaraderie, and working toward shared goals.

 

Not only did football bring me academic opportunities, but it was also how I met my now-wife, Shaneice. I was helping coach my brother’s team during the summer with my dad; as it turns out, her brother was on the same team. Now, after 13+ years together, we look back and think how connected everything in life is, putting people in the right place at the right time.

 

After graduating from college with a degree in finance and management, I began working in property management. However, just days into my new role, my manager was let go it was sink or swim, and I chose to rise to the occasion.

 

In those first three months, I spearheaded the turnaround of a struggling property, earning a promotion to assistant manager. Despite the challenges and long hours, I managed to reduce the delinquency rate, saving the company significant money. Yet, despite my successes, I found myself repeatedly overlooked for management positions due to concerns about my age. The frustration of being passed over only fueled my determination to be in control of my future.

 

Looking for a change, we moved to Charlotte, and I began working for a luxury apartment building, The VUE. The allure of high-end properties soon wore off as I realized my passion lay in helping a broader spectrum of clients. The desire to make a meaningful impact led me to obtain my real estate license.

 

Throughout my second year, I was already doing 25+ transactions. It was a natural fit, where every day, I am driven to deliver the very best service for my clients. Whether negotiating a great deal for my clients, helping them through showings to find the right property, or strategizing the best marketing plan for listings, I am always challenged to keep learning, growing and fighting on my client's behalf.

 

Fueled by a desire to give back to the sport that had given me so much, I began coaching with the Steele Creek Seahawks. After a few successful years and an unblemished 10-0 regular season, I moved on to coach Forest Creek Middle School, where we lead a first-year football program to the playoffs back-to-back seasons! Coaching allows me to connect with the next generation of athletes, imparting the values and principles that guided me. As the broker/owner of Link’d Realty Advisors, I also enjoy mentoring new agents in real estate, helping them begin to build a business of their own.

 

Whether closing a deal or coaching a game, I continue to draw upon the resilience, leadership, and unwavering belief in the power of hard work instilled in me through football. I carry with me the enduring lessons of being an athlete, knowing that with passion, perseverance, and the right attitude, anything is possible.

 

In 2019, we had our first son, Sean Rush III (Tre), and our second in 2023, Seth. When I’m not working in real estate or on the field coaching, my life revolves around family time!
